For the first time, some curlies were present at the Paris's Horse Show ! There were a breed
demonstration on Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December.
Two curlies were there, own by Betty and Francis Prévost ( Avignon ) :
- *Jack Daniels, stallion (The Charmer A&M x Spartress)
- *Aladin, pony stallion (pony x curly)
Both were imported from USA.
Jack Daniels did the demonstration, with a semi-professional rider who is often working with him
, Aurélien.
Jack Daniels did have a very beautiful trot, very harmonious, but he wasn't very comfortable when he
cantered on a small ring ( hall 5 ).
He was very calm whatever the situations and very gentle.
His hairs wasn't very curly, it was more wavy.
Aladin were introduce with a ground work, he was less comfortable among the crowd as he is
still young. He was very curly.
Betty Prevost wasn't there because of her horse allergy, but her three children and a trainee gave the
informations on the breed, and lots of people were interested because almost 5000 leaflets were given away
in 3 days !
People reactions ? The people at the show did have differents reactions, first they had a surprise,
sometimes negative, but then they did want to learn more about Curlies.

The French Association for the Promotion and the Recognition of the Curly Horse( L'Association
française pour la promotion et la reconnaissance du cheval Curly (AFPRC) ) were created at
the end of November, and here are more informations about it.
The registered office is at Cabanes ( 13 ), the president is Pierre Alain Prévost, the
secretary is Josy Fraboulet and the treasurer is Sonia Prévost.
Pierre Alain have the project to be a broker for curlies in Europe, with the help of a young lady in
the same school of commcerce as him in Rouan ( for a training project ).
For the recognition of the breed, he will have to go to the National Stud Farm ( Haras ) of Uzès
and meet there the regional director.
He will have to do a complete file to prove the breed interest, the position that the breed have and will
have in France, etc ... and then submit it to the National Stud Farm ( Haras ) who intercede on behalf of
the Agricultural Secretary. It is the Agricultural Secretary who give the final opinion.
It is deeply recommanded to keep a membership with at leat one american register and to continue to do the
double registration, french and american.
The differents parts are :
- Josy Fraboulet will do a quarterly journal and manage the papers.
- Sonia Prévost will make the website and the advertisings.
- Pierre Alain Prévost will do the work for the French Stud Farm ( Haras ) and the marketing project.
A new general assembly will be held in June 2006 with changes in the office as Pierre Alain will do his
studies abroad.
The subscription is set at 15 Euros.
